The right thing

There are many examples of City doing things the right way since the takeover but I thought the management of the pre match remembrance today was exceptionally well done
Mentioning those with connections to both Clubs and then those with Palace connections before our own showed a real touch of class..congrats to whoever put this together

For a few years now, City have held a short remembrance ceremony pre kick off at the last home game of the year, to remember and show respect to those who have passed on in the preceding year, players, staff and supporters alike. As the names are announced , they also appear on the "scoreboards"
For the first time, the Club included respect for the visitors and commenced with people who had connections to both clubs e.g Tony Grealish. They then announced people connected solely with Palace and ended with Ron Noades before mentioning their own.
The ceremony was well received and respected by Palace fans, who , I have to say were in pretty good voice yesterday

I would second that. It was a nice touch from City to include those associated with Palace and remember those who are no longer around.

In terms of our support I know some will disagree but I didn't think Palace fans were that good compared with last season. I HATE it when we sing "we're Crystal Palace, we sing all the time" which is always followed by 2 minutes of silence! I don't remember us ever singing that before why start now? It's so arrogant and very Soccer AM "banter". When the City fans starting singing "you're Crystal Palace you sing all the time" during our quiet 5 minutes some Palace fans still took that as City complimenting us! And the way some fans were celebrating 0-0 draw at half time like we've just won the league! Yes Palace fans are good in comparison to the Man Utd day trippers but nothing in comparison to us last season.

I walked back to the station and kept overhearing City fans say we didn't want to play football and they would hate to have to watch us every week. What game were they watching? You can see on the highlights we had good chances. Yes City had more of the ball and a load more passes but how many of those were in their own half? Sorry we didn't run around like headless chickens and let you score 7 against us but it wasn't that long ago when City were newly promoted to the Premier League and had to play for survival as well, strange that they couldn't remember that?

Some of us however, expected that you would work hard and make it difficult for us and were not surprised. The last two games have been interesting in that we have shown that we don't just win in a cavalier style but can get results when we don't play that well.
We do seem to have some fans who forget the bad old days or weren't around then and expect us now to score shedloads every game. Its not the 6 nils that win you win the title, its the one nils when you are a bit off the the pace

Yeah exactly. You can't play Tottenham every week!

Crystal Palace were organised but the way these City fans were going on made it seem like we're a conference team. Chelsea park the bus!

Fair play to City fans they averaged 30k attendance in Division One? There's not as many day trippers as your neighbours, just a few fans with short memories!

Thanks for that bud. A nice touch indeed

I was pleased to have only lost by 1 goal considering the way you've annihilated others at The Etihad and despite mixed reviews, I think we held our own despite some of the 'parking the bus' comments banded about.

All the best for the New Year, you too 'Mon'
