I suggested 9 points from 7 games and even that looks optimistic.

We have flattered to deceive all season, never dominating but at least grinding out results whilst riding our luck.

The reality of our position is well and truly upon us. We all know that the squad needs new blood but it's difficult to see how and when this is likely to happen.

The list of four has become three and the longer the uncertainty regarding the club's ownership continues, the more likely it is we'll miss out on McDermott's targets.

I wanted to see progression, a team that could compete and at least reach the top ten in the Championship. Questionable tactics, questionable team selection and a dearth of quality could hamper even that objective.

Don't get me wrong, I think the squad as it stands has over-achieved. McDermott has to be applauded for that but results are now going against us and we are too predictable in our play and clearly devoid of new ideas.

Change needs to happen and happen quickly.
