What an extra £10m from your shirt sponsor? Most of your players and manager in fact are already on £5m+ a year. Your problem is that you are already paying huge sums to your players.

The advantage that you and City had before the FFP rules was the ability to discount contracts for player sales. Very few clubs can afford to pay the players you have equal wages. Real Madrid have a similar problem thats why they were forced to sell Ozil, a player they would have kept in the past.

You cannot do that anymore and thats why you have to sell to buy. You can't give away players like you used to in the past and add it to you balance sheet as a write off.

I am not pretending to and I am not a forensic accountant. You however are completely ignoring the fact that most outside ppl looking in understand completely how you have been writing off contracts 'to dispose' of unwanted players as you put it and just dismissing it as a loss on the balance sheet.

Lets just look at your strike force for this year.

Ba, Torres, Etoo, Schurrle, Lukaku, Moses

Of that group Etoo on a year deal?

Take an example of Ba, 2 years left at the end of this season? Whats he on £4.2m a year? Do you think another club is going to pay him £4.2m a season? So either you will have to write £5m of his remaining contract so that he can move away. Thats a £5m loss on you balance sheet on that player alone.

Just judging by your managers words, you need to turn over most of your squad. Not just one or two strikers. So with respect you need to sell to buy. And its not so easy getting rid of players as you used to. Unless you sell players who are wanted like Mata and Lukaku to the very few clubs who can manage to pay them equal wages. Thats levelled the playing field.
