There seems to be lots of emphasis on defensive mistakes after our bad results recently quite understandably but our inability to retain possession is causing unnecessary pressure on the defence.
Last night for example the amount of attempted crosses or even shots that hit their defenders when these weren't the best options was embarassing and the result was allowing the opportunity to the opposition to launch a counter attack.
The game has changed to possession based football but our game plan of getting it wide and putting a cross in hasn't, we really need a couple of better technical players behind the striker or wide that can play this way. I''m sure the result would then be better chances being created and less defending to do and perhaps our current defenders would then be ok?
Attack best form of defence

Yes that's part of my point, the chances are not being created, look at the first half last night where we had lots of possession but no or not enough clear chances considering possession we had

Baring in mind that Jose's teams create bucket loads and regularly set scoring records he is an attacking coach. But he balances his team very well.
----------------------------------------------------------
But we scored 9 goals in two games against Leverkusen (and missed 2 crazy open goals) and Moyes isn't an attacking coach.
I've heard it all now.

Picking out two games against the same opposition = Clutching at straws.

Having the right players will automatically create chances, a team with the quality of Hazard, Oscar, Mata and Willian will always create them despite the coaching or game plan

Myth. Put Moyes in charge of Chelsea and they'll be 7th too

Yes, draws are useless I'd rather win 2/3 than be unbeaten and only win 1/3.
We don't take the game to the opponent anymore, it's like we wait for a mistake or to go behind. Why I don't know.

Agree, it does seem like we play once going behind!

We did take the game to Spurs yesterday. We started on fire and had a few moments where we could have scored. But Spurs countered well and that made us be a bit more careful knowing that Lennon against Evra could undo us and that made us be a bit more introverted in our play.
For the players we have and the style we play under Moyes we really need to score early to get the best out of it.
