Edwards wasn't great. Doesn't change the fact that we controlled the midfield though. If we can do that with him in there then imagine what it could be like with someone else.

We looked so toothless last night, that was my major concern.

10 corners to 2

doesn't scream poor midfield

Keen to see who we bring in striker wise.

Get the feeling griffo is done but can't help feeling he has been mishandled a wee bit as well.

We seemed like a hungry team a while ago, he last few months we just seem to be going through he motions.

Hopefully a good bit of activity in and out in this window will give us a spark again.

Agreed. It was the final third where we had problems.

We played 4-2-3-1 last night and when we do that we tend to dominate midfield but struggle to score.

When we play 4-4-2 we tend to lose out in midfield but look more like scoring.

That's the dilemma Jackett needs to solve

I don't think that we are playing particularly badly at the moment, certainly no worse than earlier in the season when we didn't play particularly well.
The difference between then and now was that we were scoring a few goals and not conceding. Now we are scoring far fewer goals and conceding more.

You may be right cyp, I don't think Kenny is doing himself any favors, what is it 23/24 games and he doesn't seem to have a clue what his favourite line up or formation is.

Good news about Jacobs in todays E & S, an excellent read as ever -

As for Jacobs, whose loan has now expired, Jackett said: “There were discussions yesterday about a permanent move and something positive will be announced shortly.”

Jackett continues to be dissatisfied with his attack after trying Bakary Sako alongside Kevin Doyle last night.

“I didn’t feel our forwards got the strikes in that our possession really warranted,” he said. “As the game wore on, we looked bereft of ideas.

“But with the festive games out of the way, we’re looking to improve.”

Jackett dismissed speculation of a return for Coventry striker Leon Clarke.

And Roger Johnson’s loan is set to be extended at Sheffield Wednesday.
