Picking Your Battles

Ally McCoist. FFS man.

After the OP yesterday by SDF where McCoist was slaughtered for not protecting his players and being too nice, he's now in the papers today slaughtering the SPFL for not helping Rangers out by playing the Stenousemuir game tomorrow and not in a free midweek.

McCoist said: “Different initials but the same old story with the way our club has been treated.

“This game should not have been played on Sunday, it should have been played in midweek. That’sour fourth game in only 11 days and it’s just not on.

“To make matters worse, they’re sending us up to Forfar after a nine-day break later this month. So we play four games in 11 days, nothing for nine days and then they send our fans away up to Forfar on a Monday night.

“There’s something not right about that. Stenhousemuir’s preferred option was Sunday I think, which I can understand for financial reasons.

“But we made our feelings absolutely clear we wanted to play when everybody had a free midweek.

“We had our say but it shows you how much they listen to us. There’s no point in raising it with them again because they knew we weren’t happy with it. At this time of the year when money is scarce for everybody to ask our support to travel to a third away game and a fourth match in 11 days is just not fair."

Now let's get this straight - it's HIS fault that the original game with Stenny was called off. He wanted it off because he had 3 players away on international duty. And what he now wants to do is deny Stenhousemuir a home, weekend fixture and move it to a midweek. This would have two negative consequences for Stenny - firstly it would probably mean less money for them as a midweek fixture always gets a lower crowd. And secondly, and most importantly, a midweek fixture would mean that the Stenny players would have had a full day at work before playing the game against Rangers, giving the Gers a clear advantage. As one Stenny fan on Twitter put it "McCoist is a príck, game against Stenny should be midweek?...Why, so we are fúcked after working all day whilst your boys can lie and get a Massage for 3 days before checking that there £5k a week wages are in? Away and fúck off #Embarrassing".

I'd suggest the boy has a point.

Ally, ffs, pick the battles you want to fight. He seems content to pick fights with the governing body so as to be seen to be protecting his club, but he doesn't seem to want to protect the players getting booted up and down the park every week. He should really get his priorities right here.

This OP is a load of písh.

nearly 500 comments FFS, CBA going through it all

the stenny game was called off 2 hours before kick off due to the mental weather a few weeks ago, the games called off due to international fixtures were duinfermline and forfar which have both been replayed

OPis spot on about mccoist, that outburst was embarrassing, he totally contradicts himself at almost every turn. he wanted a big squad yet refuses to use it properly

jon daly has played 4 90 min games in 11 days and looks knackered, yet mccoist either refuses to see this and thats why he isnt getting subbed or he thinks he's ok

either way, its worrying
