So....Kevin Phillips?

Under pressure from Stringer after the Stoke game, Pearson came as close as he probably ever could to confirming that we are in for Kevin Phillips, currently out of contract at the age of 40 (41 in July).

That would fine by me. If he came on for the last 15 minutes of a dozen or so games and put away half-chances at his usual rate, he could chalk up 4 or 5 goals and be the difference between promotion and not. He can't have much more in the tank now, but maybe half a season. He has been excellent in that way latterly, with Palace, Blackpool and Birmingham.

What do folk reckon?
