Divinity II Developers Cut

Holy feck! I've just spent an amount of hours playing this game that any man my age should be ashamed of. AND IM NOT FINISHED.

Firstly, I initially played this game as a demo on the 360. Wow was it bad. It's glitches and horrible graphics were enough to turn me off within 10 mins. However, recently I've decided that since there seems to be a bit of a drought in console gaming that I would finally dive into the world of PC gaming. I am very glad I did.

I began with visiting all of the classics(top pc games of the year ??) I could get my hands on. Being a RTS/RPG/simulation fan I went through quite a few. Each seemingly more impressive than the last. I hadn't had so much fun in a long time. Bah, this is for another article...

Divinity II is quite amazing. A game where the sum (even though I'm not quite finished) if better than the parts. I have felt very immersed in this game. The story is great and smartly written. The depth of the rpg elements is quite wonderful. I'm generally of the "give me more though" when it comes to rpg's and Divinity II doesn't disappoint. Each town seems to come to life. While games like Skyrim and others have plenty of bland lifeless NPC's, Divinity II NPC's seem to each have their own personality. From creepy guys to gossip queens.

The fighting while to begin with felt awkward but that may have been because of my relative immaturity with PC controls. Just a few character levels into the game I began to feel what they were aiming for and I'm having a great time now. I've gone the route of a ranger. Stealth and archery along with a bit of creature summoning

The graphics while still not the greatest are quite satisfactory. The sound is great and the music (along with characters) reference and sometimes humorously mimic what I can guess is their inspiration for certain towns (the docks have what is almost a complete rip of Morrowind's amazing music).

The quests/missions never feel boring or repetitive. The game is enormous. Also and this is a big also....YOU CAN BE A DRAGON. It's so great. I recommend this to anyone who plays RPG's. It's seems to have been given a bad rep but it's anything but bad. In fact I'd give it a 9/10 so far. I'm guessing I'm about 85% through this game. Can't wait to get back to it honestly.

Thank you and good night.

What RTS games would you recommend?

Supreme Commander Forged Alliance

Age of Empires 2

Homeworld

And of course Red Alert 2

There are a lot I have never tried as I don't have a "gaming rig" so I am limited to what I can run smoothly.

I want to try Company of Heroes and Rome: Total War

Is this connected to the divine divinity games?

Played a few of those when they were on steam for cheaps

Very much like a top down 90's version of the elder scrolls games
