Lets be honest guys, with cash in the bank reported to be low and predictions of doom from some quarters, it seems very likely we will be trying to move players on during this transfer window.
Who do you think will go? Not, who you want to go.
Reports this morning suggest Lee Wallace, David Templeton and Dean Shiels are 3 names destined to be moved on.
I think Wallace is probably the one player in our squad with any real value so I expect him to go. Any sort of fee like £1,000,000 cant be sniffed at in our situation.
Templeton should move on but I just cant see anyone paying out for him. The same goes with Shiels. Both are decent players but neither have performed well now for 1 and a half years at the lowest level of Scottish football, and both have constant injury problems.
Steve Simmonsen will be released in my mind. Gallacher is back from his loan and will do fine if called apon.
I also expect us to move Cribari on. Probably not for a fee but just negotiate a release.
I'd be happy for several guys to go but I just dont see any buyers out their who would pay for them.
Who will we lose?

shiels wont be missed
wallace of course we will miss him

The problem is that aside from wallace and mcloed every other player would cost us money to get rid of so I really don't see the point.
Unless they are happy to leave for half their remaining contract then why would we release anyone?
The other thing is that it's not really player wages that are the problem. Looking at the financial reports the turnover to player wage ratio was actually pretty good.
It's off field salaries that need to be cut and thankfully the worst of these have gone. It's Much easier to reduce the wage of permanent employee s through a restructure than it is to reduce that of people on fixed contracts (players) so that I think is where we should start. Stockbridge should be first to take a hefty cut.
As for Wallace, would he leave? I'm shocked he stayed and he has never asked for a move.

Kingron
I'm more or less with you on this. Temps, Cribari, Shiels, Simonsen for the reasons you've given
I feel we have two many defenders also so can't see value to the club of retaining both Hegarty and Perry, or Hutton in midfield. Does the fact they are injured mean we can't encourage them to find other clubs?
Real diemma for us is Wallace of course....our most saleable asset, but one of the few players of SPL quality in our side
Personally I really hope CEO takes a longer term view and keeps Wallace, and tries to make savings elsewhere in the squad

Get rid of:
Perry, Hutton, Peralta, Foster, Cribari, Simonson, S. Smith
Renegotiate (If unwilling to accept then punt)
McCulloch, McCoist Durrant, McDowall, Shiels, Templeton
Should leave for the sake of their careers:
Any flair player.

good shout blue nose
id actually get rid of durrant and mcdowall and get new coaches

McCulloch is still on the deal he signed when we still in European football so he's easily on £15k a week, probably closer to £20k per week. That's enough to get him to agree a new deal if nothing else in my opinion. Wallace I'd imagine will be on between £5k and 8k per week.

So.....gallacher's come back from his loan and been told like mitchell he's not required for the first team
Except he can't go on loan again cos he's played for two clubs already
Surely tae fook simonsen should be the first oot the door?

simonsson goes then its a pay off
fakin joke, just goes to show how not being proactive all the time can hinder you at later stages
said it many times, when div 3 was clinched in march, gallgher should have been given game time then to see what he's all about
rather than waiting till summer before pitching him in at deep end then cause he's no had enough games, papped on loan and we waste money on another GK
