With Real Madrid. That's a shame, we could have done with his abilities and his leadership. Also would be nice for the Kop to sing his name once more (although I don't think we stopped since he left)

Apart from the obvious long shot of a Spaniard in his last few years, leaving Real Madrid to return to Liverpool, on various occasions Alonso has talked about the amount of tax you pay in this country, compared to Spain.
So it would seem there was very little prospect of him returning either way.

Spain is in disarray. Won't be long until it's worse than here. Though it's probably easier for him to get around it over there.
