People that know football.....

People that know football are in charge of our football club and that's why they didn't purchase Rodrigo Moreno when we had the chance 3 years ago. Another damning indictment of Gartside's reign at our club!

Check out his valuation now. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/10/ex-bolton-wanderers-loanee-could-fetch-29-million/

This should also serve as evidence why we should never write off young players that play for us that appear to struggle when they first arrive and a prime example in our current squad is Rob Hall!

Moreno barely played for us. We left him on the bench at Wembley and let Klasnic labour after being promised him upfront. I don't think it was PG. Unless a loanee plays a significant part you can't blame him for not paying out.

Not selling Cahill to Spurs for £12m was a bigger mistake for me.

OC must also have been at fault for the Rodrigo situation. He played him as a winger and was clearly not strong enough to play that role. Should've been the quick striker we needed and still need to play off a target man! Disappointed!

I didn't think a permanent transfer was on the cards anyways. We were meant to sign him up as part of the Alonso deal but Benfica beat us to it and we loaned him off them instead - Real Madrid having first dibs on any subsequent deal if he was any good.

Either or, if we had used him properly we'd have let his contract run down and he'd be a free by now anyway.

1) he was rubbish for us
2) we never had the option of buying him

People are usually begging for more comments and people on here, just answering their pleas. Calling people names isn't nice.

With no interest in any of our players, it shows how much dross is in our squad.

Cravies, was going to save this comment for my match thread, but your comment has prompted me to put it here!

First, can I ask you something? Do you have a contact at the club? You seem to know an awful lot about the details of salaries, finances and who is or isn't enquiring about our players.

Second, do you think DF will tinker today and revert to one striker? This despite NGog and Beckford seemingly forming some sort of productive partnership. A fit Ngog and Beckford should tear this league apart imo.

Cef its in the bolton news this morning that df has had no phone calls for any of his players this transfer window. Also extremely likely to go back to one up front today with Moritz playing behind the loan striker.

Dougie the dope came out with the now phone calls comment in his last post match interview which shows where his mind in when it should be on the pitch.
We see this often as part of PG's player promotion deals as he tries to sell players. The manager has to get the no phone calls, players available hint in just as a manager has to get in the sponsors name !
