CASE FOR THE DEFENCE

Looking at the remaining fixtures for our two clubs this season.

I believe it will be nip and tuck right to the finishing line.
April will be the key month for me.

A lot has been made of the fact Liverpool have to play all the big clubs at home.
I actually believe with Liverpools style of football they will be more vulnerable to City,Arsenal and Chelsea at home.

With Suarez as the fulcrum of Liverpools hopes they will score a lot of goals.
A lot of people are saying they are a one man team, what happens if he gets an injury?

In my opinion it will come down to the defence of both teams.
We have a settled unit, the best unit in the Prem.

Liverpool on the other hand have an injury to Agger, Sakho looks a bag of nerves, and Skrtel? Well Skrtel is a mistake waiting to happen.

For that reason I believe we will finish above Liverpool.

Agree.

Right, so Liverpool's superior goal difference could be, should we get to the end of the season & Everton have kept up with us, be as good as an extra point. Or the difference between finishing 4th or 5th.

Agree or disagree?

So you do think it could come down to GD?

If the season finished tomorrow you may have a point.
How do you know you will still have a superior goal difference at the end of the season?

I didn't say that. I'm not a mind reader and don't know what might transpire over the next 4 months. Either club may, or may not maintain the form of the 1st half of the season. Injuries, new signings etc may also be a factor. I'm merely talking hypothetically to get my point across.

"How do you know you will still have a superior goal difference at the end of the season?"

Again, I never said we would. That being said with Suarez & Sturridge in the team, without accounting for injuries, I can see us out scoring Everton in the 2nd half of the season.

A case for the attack.

Liverpool score more goals, goals win games.

Liverpool to finish higher than Everton.

Cheers

Proven today. Liverpool are above Everton.

Cheers

How many you scored against the big teams red?

And how many conceded?

You hypothesised about who would finish higher, Everton or Liverpool.

Saying the tight defence of Everton will be the difference. With over half the season gone, that hypothesis seems incorrect.

Goals win games, tight defences help you not to lose games.

Cheers.

All well and good.
How did that work out against the big teams?

Whats your obsession with big teams?

You play all the teams big and small, add up the points, most points wins.

We are currently 4th best at that, you are 5th best.

Whether the points come against big or small teams is a complete irrelevance.
