The biggest crowd I've ever been in, and still a European Cup record.

The Pride of England - Leeds - managed by the great Don Revie, complete with Bremner, Charlton, Clark, Gray, Hunter, Giles, Lorimer etc.

Up against a rebuilding Lions team managed by John Stein.

Young George Connolly's goal from the first leg set us up nicely.

One for the Club 55+ Members.

Sorry Leo - ye're too young

Steve

When I'm 'maudlin' [ ie now ] - I could weep tears of happiness & gratitude for the impact these guys had on my life.

They were so grounded and rooted in their communities.

Yet they could still beat the best on the planet.

Many players of this era would use still public transport.

That Celtic team was an ugly bunch - check oot the foties in the clip.

But I still love every one of those bonny, bonny lads.

CG.

He was hard as nails, but was some player.

Just like most of the squad Revie shaped.

Leeds were one of the best teams in the world then.

So were we

TMQ - my auld da was a Leicester City fan - my brother still is - I grew up I'm the company of Alam Clark and Lenny Glover😎 my brother was up here for New Year - he still maintains that Bremner was the hardest player he has ever seem and that Gordon Banks was the greatest ever keeper x

Cg I knew what ye meant

It was a time of Giants in Scottish & UK football.

Scores of them were world class.

Best, Jinky, Charlton, Giles, Clark, Henderson, Baxter, Law, etc etc etc.

Bremner just didn't know when he was beat and would be snarling & challenging till the whistle blew.

You wouldn't confuse him with Samaras

One of the best Scotland teams ever was in the 70's and 95% made up of Leeds & Celtic players.

Offski now Ethel - got a lunchtime pub session tomorrow.
