Whatto do next

Who ever has to go make it Austin. When he first came I thought he was ideal, a big strong type who could be the holding mid field that we Leeds. But I am afraid that it has not worked out. Too many times he loses the ball and puts teammates under pressure. He looked right to be the captain, but does not have the ability to coax the best out of the others around him. I know it is wrong to single out just one man, there others just as culpable. We had two new wide men in the team today but the service to them was so bad, they must have wondered what they had let themselves in for. In a nut shell the whole team apart from Kenny and the two wide men let this club down and they should be made aware of this. I support BM but even i wondered why he did not kick off with a four two four from the start.

Could it be that having the captaincy is not conducive to his overall game. Some can cope with the responsibility, others can't. Just a thought.

LIW, how many good performances has Austin really put in for Leeds?

He's put in a few great performances, but the rest have been really, really average.

Sorry Austin is Bottom/mid championship player at best. I will not argue he does show signs of brilliance now and again, but so do most midfielders

The problem i have is week after week Austin looks average, loses ball, doesnt do the simple things and is forever trying to shoot from 50 yards.
If the plaer needs a rest then he shouldnt be playing football

Been played in wrong position this season

And had murphy next to him

You can say what you want, he's easily been out best midfielder this season

Me and LIW see him more than the majority on this forum as season ticket holders and we both agree he's not a bad player. Fatigue has clearly had an impact on him. I remember last season after the international break we all wanted him back for the Wednesday game, he came back and was shattered and awful. He needs resting to get the best out of him. Every other player has got a rest in midfield, why not Austin?

Pro, low, I've done my fair few Leeds games and I'm well on board with the view of Rudy.

Its the stayaways who keep bleating on.

Sorry professional footballers should need a rest to get the best out of them
It says a lot when Austin as been our best midfielder

I get to my share of games, maybe not every game, but a good amount. Austin is average a lot of the time. He's hard not to like because he doesn't stop running and puts in some great tackles.

But his ability on the ball and impact on the game has been very average this season.

Agree he's playing out of position - as a defensive midfielder, he'd be a lot better.
