Darren Fletcher

From BBC:

There's no doubt that Darren Fletcher was key to Manchester United's victory today, and the stats bear that out. The Scotland midfielder found his man with almost 93% of his passes compared to Jonjo Shelvey's 82%. He made three key interceptions compared to none for Shelvey and created two chances for his team. Shelvey? None.

---

He was everywhere..

Welcome back Fletcher - although it was only Jonjo he was up again but still, good signs that the old Darren Fletcher is back

As Ben says I agree, minimum we need in the next two windows are: CB,LB, Midfielders x 2,Wide man.
Moyes will not feel as loyal to Carrick,Evra as SAF did to Scholes,Giggs,Evra.
I do hope Vidic stays. Not sure quite why his contract wasn't sorted in the summer and another year offered.
Think Powell will be next to make the breakthrough, possibly Keane and Lingard next season biut should be places in squad available as Rio, Giggs will have gone, Bebe, Macheda too and most likely some of Anderson,Nani,Buttner,Fabio,Young or Valencia maybe

Some say Powell may end up centre forward but from what I see perhaps an attacking midfielder. He certainly gets goals and has a good shot.

yeah will be interesting to see how he develops, you never know he might drop into cm! Think he will struggle for the number 10 spot

Powell's got a great chance to break through in the next couple of seasons IMO.

He's one of those players who just looks so comfortable on the ball in any given situation. Nothing seems to phase him. Definite class about him.

Maybe a Martin Peters type of player, ghosts into the box and gets 10 goals+ a season from midfield, a complete midfield player hopefully !

What (today) proved that you need a top class midfielder?

LRF.. its called planning ahead
You dont wait until your players are dead until you buy in some replacements.

How about the fact that we hardly touched the ball in the first half?

Great to Fletcher back after all his problems. Definitely MOTM for me. Didn't waste a single ball in the second half
and should only get better once he is fully match fit again.
