Interesting to see the athletics picture.
A while back I was talking with an old chap in the pub
He is of the rugger fraternity and also ran for Scotland in his younger days
He explained that the Ibrox games were the biggest athletic event in the country and brought some of the worlds top athletes of the day. Struth was by all accounts the major influence at the time in Scottish track and field.
Interesting bit of trivia...

Thanks Bluenose - enjoyed that. I remember getting an Ibrox tour in the mid sixties when I was a school-boy and we got taken up into that freezing old press box on top of the main stand roof...happy memories
