I was listening to the 'transfer guru' on TalkSport earlier (I know!! I know!!) and they discussed P Neville being in Spain yesterday and Moyes in Italy but were very non-specific about who they were watching, however, they guy did state that it was his understanding that United's interest in Herrera has cooled enormously over the last few months which begs the question, how much background work did they do prior to showing an interest in the summer for them to lose total interest in such a short period of time thereafter? .................. having said that, we could also ask how much background research/thought did we do re: Fellaini, as he has also proven to be a huge disappointment over a matter of a few months also!!

RR, yes and this is where I'm questioning the manager's judgement.
Andy Carroll is terrible, under no circumstances should he ever be at Old Trafford - unless he's playing for the away team.

Face it fellas our biggest loss has been other clubs not being scared of us, and this was becoming the case under SAF too

True. That and 4 teams all of who are taking advantage of every point dropped.

TBH fellas I wasn't against the fellaini signing initially
I actually saw qualities in him that even carrick lacked and I really rate carrick. For example I don't think carrick presses forward as much and as quick
In fact the only doubt I had was him playing next to carrick, I thought he would be in place of carrick

Well than that was your mistake for assuming Carrick would be dropped.

My gran can press quicker than Fellaini.
And she has been dead for five years.
Fellaini just isn't a midfield player, under any stretch of imagination.

I guess time will tell and if Carricks Achilles is as bad as some say then Fellaini in his position maywell turn out to be a bit of a coup

I haven't seen one performance from him that will suggest this.
He is slow, he can't tackle, he can't read the game and he can't pass like Carrick.
And he hasn't been dominant in the air either.

VC - I actually agree with that to a degree
My point is that just because he hasn't at UTD doesn't necessarily mean he cant. lets take the air example
I didn't watch everton regularly but when I did he was, for example, fantastic in the air. I also think some of his ariel challenges were not given as freekicks unlike since he came to UTD
For some reason he hasn't been dominant in the air at UTD however is this due to being awe stricken or injury? I dont know.
Whatever the reason its fact that he hasn't been dominant in the air
what is also fact is that he was and is for Blegium

what he didn't appreciate I suspect was the tempo and manner in which United teams are expected to play
.............
You would have thought he would understand this having played against us twenty plus times.
........................................................................
well in signing Fellaini as a solution, he must be inept or just plain stupid...............................
