Optimistic for tomorrow?

Predictions for tomorrow then ladies and gents...

Leeds Utd go into this game on the back of two "disappointing" results (I suspect that Leeds' fans may use slightly harsher language to describe the FA Cup exit to Rochdale and the 6-0 reverse at Hillsborough). Will these results affect the confidence that was beginning to build in the latter stage of 2013 when it looked like McDermott was beginning to galvanise the sleeping giants of Yorkshire into a decent run of results? At one stage Utd were knocking on the play-off door but have slipped away a little as the New Year programme commenced.

As for Leicester their Christmas form has seen them take maximum points with 5 straight wins including the impressive victory away at QPR and the televised 4-1 demolition of Derby County last Friday.

On paper this has all the makings of another regulation away win for the foxes, but I suspect the reality will be somewhat different.

Elland Road is always a tough place to come and if the Utd faithful show up in numbers they can create a formidable atmosphere. Cameron Stewart and Jimmy Kebe look like two useful additions and will add some undoubted pace down the wings as well as improving the service to McCormack, a player who many class as one of the top three strikers in the Championship.

City have plenty of pace in their own team with the likes of Dyer and Vardy enjoying a rich vein of form and with Nugent's recent scoring run there always looks to be goals in the team.

Prediction? I think it will be a tight game decided by no more than one goal either way, but on balance I suspect a 1-1 draw.

What do you think?

Dear me...

I always say we ll get thumped by Leicester and wont, but this time i feel we ll upset them. Were good at bringing good sides down to our level i.e QPR, Leicester earlier in season, Spurs / Everton last season

2-1 Leeds - McCormack and Varney

Shaun ............. completely disagree with you on the Everton bit.

That night we played well, with a great goal to cap it off.

The rest is fair comment mind ........

2 nil Varney brace

An early goal is crucial to both sides.

I think Leicester will get it and go on to win 3-1 to cap a great week off.

Buying players like Morrison, Smith, Murphy, Kebe, Stewart, all useless, Leeds never learn. Why not bring Becchio back. Leeds are doomed !!

Good old Clive/blue meme - where are you now?

No. Not confident. If we can field a team without Varney in the starting line up then I'd feel a little better.

As has already been mentioned, Leeds is always a rough place with a hostile atmosphere and the Leeds fans will be up for upsetting us.

That said I think the players have realised they're the best team in the league and I don't expect us to become complacent now. I see us closing this season out this season like we did in League 1 so I don't think we'll lose but I can see a 2-2 draw.

I have a horrible feeling it will be one of those games that we dont turn up in. I really fancied Leeds to do well this year and still think on there day, infront of a loud crowd, they are a handful.

Leeds 2-1 City (late nuge consolation)

You got the late goal by Nuge right and it was some consolation!!! LOL
