But you made a mistake today.......
Wrong team selection! Yes you picked out strongest players but they were no the strongest team!
Playing no DM to mop up all Villa's long balls was a mistake and left us short at the back too much.
The team selection was accommodating for too many players today.
Either Sterling or Coutinho....... NOT both!
Sorry BR

Metro..
Yes he did make the correct change at HT.
BUT.... was the damage already done by then???

BUT.... Managers don't get everything right all the time. You've got to accept that. I'm sure privately BR is kicking himself for his mistake today. He changed it at half time and we got a point from a game that we were getting battered in.....

LFC - a study of a rabbit caught in the headlights, then running for its life in case it gets run over. Full marks to Villa, they deserved three points. I've never heard Anfield so quiet, and rightly so. We were dire, we were very lucky indeed to get a point. Wake up call? an atom bomb up yer 'arris more like. The only saving grace will be that even John H, with his limited knowledge must see the need for fresh blood.

Up to a point.... I think Gerrard was supposed to be the DM, unfortunately he had a stinker, by his own admission. I maintain the point that if the starting 11 hadn't played so poorly as individuals, we wouldn't of gotten overrun so easily. I think Coutinho needs a break, he's not playing well at the moment. But I don't think it's a case of him and Sterling not being able to play in the same team. If they're both playing well, they're integral to how the team are meant to play.....

I was very disappointed to see Coutinho taken off. I would have replaced StevieG with Lucas. Villa are a very physical side, they played very well. It's easy to blame BR, I would also include the entire team too. No one stood out, with the exception of Raheem who, despite his diminutive size, kept getting stuck in. Well done son, shame you were on your own.

Gerrard was very poor today, but that is expected with the change of role, until the transition is made.
I do not think think that Sterling, Coutinho, Sturidge and Suarez can play in the same team.

You say Villa are a physical side, yet think Coutinho should of stayed on instead of Gerrard? Coutinho did very little, and Gerrard was far more influential when further forward in the second half....

t 1, Phillipe wasn't allowed to do much, Villa were more committed. For me, he, Luis, Daniel and Raheem are bolt-on certainties.

Jimmy.
How can BR accommodate these players?

H-E, the only answer is to play either Luis or Daniel if you are not happy with the four on the field. Raheem is for me playing his best football, Phillipe in not enjoying earlier success but he is still a fantastic player. It sounds crazy to suggest it, but either L or D sits on the bench. And I would be totally against that. With our back four playing so badly, perhaps more emphasis is needed on our attackers.
