BVZ that’s a strange statement to make I cannot see the sense in it. A forum is a debating society where posters state their view and others agree or disagree then going on to say why.

When I quote back what posters have said its is to point out either the consistency in their comments or the lack of it and it is geared to win the debate, hopefully, in a respectful way.

Historical comments are very relevant to a debate that’s how the system works.

I admit I do keep a record of what I would call very interesting comments and we all do it to a certain extent, in fact, I can remember Azza doing it to me some time ago quoting chapter and verse what I had said and he was perfectly right to do it, I don't have a problem with that approach.

In my opinion when you make a comment you should be prepared to justify it. If you get it wrong then you apologise as I had to do to DR4E recently and Bally had to do the same I recall.

I believe in democracy and freedom of speech. I have always said that I don't believe in censorship provided the poster presents his comments in a respectful way. I may not like what a poster posts but I would support the posters right in making his views known.

So there is your apology from Alex, Zigger. Even so please come back to posting, you have been missed.

Things will improve now we definitely know that the owners have stated their intention in the right way. As others have said the takeover is apparently dead and buried, so we ALL get behind those in charge.

We may still be critical, but we ( me at least) will back them and the team 100%.

Don't get me wrong disagreement is central to the forum workings and I never intended to be rude or offensive to BVZ. Just voicing an opinion on a comment and exercising the right of a reply.

Some times you win and some times you lose its a debate.

Its only history that tells us what was right and even then its not always right but the show goes on.

You've a better memory than me Alex as I can't remember doing anything as such

When we get around to talking football again it's worth noting that the Dingles got Prosecuteawitch, Yeovil got Miller back and Millwall got DJ Campbell during the transfer window.

Donny Pirate:
Proschwitz and Miller are not in Billy Sharp’s class as strikers. If you look at their records you’ll see that Proschwitz has little experience at Championship level and has hardly played since he came to the UK and scored 3 goals in 18 months or so. Miller has played only 146 times - I suspect quite a few as sub - since 2005, 8 whole years. He has scored 26 goals in all that time. You could almost say that neither is even an experienced league player. If you want to look at Derbyshire you will find that he has also spent a great deal of his time on the sidelines and I think his scoring ratio is 1 in 5 at best.

DJ Campbell is somewhat better and is the only one who has scored at the Billy Sharp rate in the past, but at 32 he is possibly beyond his peak which might be evidenced by his recent unproductive time at Blackburn. You could compare this with Billy’s loan period at Reading, yet Billy still scored goals 2 goals from only 5 starts with 10 appearances. In fact he scored the only goals in two 1-0 Reading victories yet was subbed in both matches after 70 minutes!

We know what Billy did here and surely no one can argue with 9 goals for Southampton in 15 games in their promotion year followed by being summarily dropped from their PL line-ups with no opportunities whatsoever. He then went on loan to Forest and participated, rather than started in 39 matches and still scored 10 goals.

So let’s get this in perspective; it may be difficult to come to terms with, but DRFC have got a great deal which really puts us well in front of (at least) our immediate rivals.

I wouldn't disagree with any of that Donaldo. The point is that all the teams around us have been trying to strengthen their strike force, and most (or all?) have been more productive than ours so far this season. Strikers depend upon service It will be interesting to see which striker has the most impact.
