Hope for a 21 year Deja Vu?

1992 - Alex Ferguson started the first Premier League with a poor run of results and under intense pressure to deliver Manchester United's first title in 26 years. Midway through the season he signs a player from one of United's biggest rivals who has fallen out of favour with the club even though he was their best player in the previous season. Eric Cantona : a shock suprise signing that raised a lot of eyebrows and lead United to numerous successes and inspired a dynasty of champions

2013 - David Moyes started the first Premier League season without Alex Ferguson with a poor run of results and und............you know the rest.........

For those of you who don't pretty much the same as the paragraph above but swap Leeds for Chelsea and Eric Cantona for Juan Mata.
(and the bit about the 26 years)

I always thought Cantona was the missing piece to the Jigsaw, but unfortunately this time round we've more than one missing piece!!!!!

The missing piece in our jigsaw is not a player.

Plus in that season you didn't have 3 other clubs streets ahead of yours who all need to capitulate on the run in.

He also had luck in having a bunch of freakishly talented kids, does Moyes ?

Interestingly... Only Giggs broke through in that period ..... An 18 year old playing left wing and really exciting the old Trafford crowd, even during the low points.

Sounds familiar?

Not in 1992/93 he didn't.

Not that I think we're getting near the title this season. We're hoping 3 very good teams drop 39 points between them and we win every game, when we're playing pretty c.rap. Typing it is painful enough, it doesn't need any more explaining.

And we'd have to overturn City's goal difference.

Let us also not forget, Fergie didn't win anything in his first season and look at what he went on to achieve.

Therefore the exact same thing will happen with Moyes.
