Just how good is/isn't Amir Khan?

After winning silver in Athens, 2004, everyone was hyping up Amir. British boxing had a new face, many tipped Khan for big things.

He went on an 18 fight winning streak, and he was seemingly progressing well.

Then round in his 19th bout, he was flattened by Prescott.

After the defeat, many critics claimed Khan would never make it to the big time. Never make the cut at world level.

3 fights later, Khan picks up his first world title, at only the age of 22.

His performances following this were impressive. The calibre of opponent was increasing. Soon, Khan was holding 2 belts, with names such as Judah, Malignaggi and Maidana on his record.

Khans first defence of his 2 titles was against Peterson. We all know what happened there... Daylight robbery. You all know the seventh round saga, drug taking and changing the score cards.

Next up for Khan was Garcia in the states. After out boxing Danny in the opening rounds, nolooklefthook lands a peach, sending Khan sprawling and effectively ending the bout.

Since then, Khan has had a few bouts which he has won. One with ease, one via recovering from a knockdown in the fourth.

So what now for Amir? How good actually is he?

You could make a case for him. Many good fighters suffer early shock defeats. He was robbed blatantly by Lamont and Garcia landed one blind shot which ended the bout.

On the other hand, he's now lost 3 times, changed trainers and seemingly blamed everyone but himself.

Love or hate the guy, he's entertaining, and you'll always get an exciting fight with Khan.

I personally hope he gets himself back on track and back on world level.
