@StevenWBA: Hearing dialogue taken place between Lazio and #wba. Would seem there's a will from both parties to get deal done. Albion will be way short.
@StevenWBA: Clever ploy by Anelka if he moves to Serie A. But where does this leave Albion. They've already had one deadline day of panic....#wba
@StevenWBA: So to reiterate, there's been dialogue between Lazio & #wba regarding Nicolas Anelka. I would imagine Anelka will really fancy getting away
@StevenWBA: #wba were planning to offload Anelka this month back in October - that seemed to go quiet. I think he will go to Lazio from what im hearing.
@StevenWBA: I would like to think #wba know what they're doing if/when Anelka leaves. I would hope they've got a plan in place - or they're in trouble
@StevenWBA: I would still be very surprised if #wba spend any money this month. They'll be solely relying on loan/short term deals. #wba
Anelka to sign for Lazio

Just because our opinion is different to yours, doesn't make us naive.
For a player to be good and to represent good value he first has to be fit for a sufficient number of games.
Big Vic had a poor injury record at Everton and the same is happening now that he's with us.
Irrespective of what you think of his performances, his inability to get himself fit enough to string 2 matches together is reason enough to dispel him as a poor signing!

In 2007/08 Vic managed 41 appearances.
Since then he's managed:
2008/09 - 22 apps
2009/10 - 11 apps
2010/11 - 19 apps
2011/12 - 16 apps
2012/13 - 32 apps
This season he's managed 11 appearances.
This includes sub appearances and cup games.
Makes for pretty bad reading!

While I rate Anichebe highly, I can see why some people don't like him as he doesn't score the goals + his injury record is poor. I just think a strike force of him and Berahino is such a good prospect. We don't have a player who can bring other players as well as Vic quite frankly imo.

So doesn't score goals, bad injury record and can't play up front on his own? A snip at £6 million!

The Riera to #wba links are interesting. A winger for much of his early career, he has played left back for the last few years.

My opinion is that when anichebe is on form, we are a much better team for it

Cox no one has said he can't play upfront on his, if anything that is when he is at his best. With his hold up play and general bullying of defenders our other attacking players will benefit.
It takes 2 defenders to get the ball off of him and even then it tends to be 50/50. He's the reason we didn't lose against Everton
