No Style

Was just listening to Radio Scotland and the pundits made a good point.

Right now, we have no style in our play. There seems to be no real game plan in most games other than punt it up front or give the ball to Lee Wallace and hope he creates something. As the pudits said, and i agree, we do not look like a well coached side.

Obviously we are winning this league by some way, and I suspect we will win the league next year, although by a smaller margin. So maybe its harsh to have a pop at coaching and the style of the team but the vast majority of our performances do not reflect our now 23 point lead in the league.

And obviously winning comes first for us fans but right now we are scrapping results. I'm 100% certain we can adapt an attractive style and still win.

Im sure what will end up happening is that we will continue as we are now, hitting long balls and just waiting for something to happen in games rather than trying to force and create openings. We will get promotion this year and next. Then in our first year back in the SPL we will get a seriously rude awakening and realise we are a poor side, struggle for decent results.

Maybe Im just thinking the worst but the games over the last 3 months or so have been hard to watch and I dont see Ally, Durrant or McDowel changing things.

This week on the club site, it was rammed down our throats about how fit the side were, how fitness is key etc. It is important but I worry we spend far too much time on fitness training than practising how we are going to play the game.
