Defender Leighton Baines has signed a new four-year deal with Everton.
Former Toffees manager David Moyes twice failed in his efforts to take the 29-year-old England left-back with him to Manchester United last summer.

Baines is a top quality left-back. For the right money he would have been a great signing.

Good luck to him, everton going well atm, truth be told i'd rather we went for a younger option, but baines would have improved us.

It was the full backs that will decide it a minute ago.

Tomorrow night will decide it!

Got to say I'm glad to hear we won't be signing him, even though I do rate him.
Think Baines saying no is a bit of a stretch though. We didn't even try to sign him this transfer window and he didn't get the chance to say no in the Summer because our bids were considered too low.
I dare say if we'd had a bid accepted by Everton Baines would have been more than happy to make the short trip along the M62.

33 year old LB with a 30 year old one so hopefully we can go for Shaw now in the summer.
If making him a year older makes you feel better then so be it,but he's only just turned 29.

Glad all the United fans rate Shaw. I hope you still like him when he is playing for us
