Kernow

Not knocking it at all. It's a lifestyle choice though, not anarchy!

It IS anarchy; they have meetings on the beach and everything!

"We're going to smash the establishment, bring the classes to their knees and stop having the OMFG!! LOOK AT THE PRETTY SHELL! IT'S LIKE A RAINBOW!!"

Damn hippy.

you appear to have a daily mail understanding of anarchy- it aint about throwing bricks at police cars and gobbing at punk gigs or even being a layabout (god forbid eh?)
iv made lifestyle choices through using anarchy as a philosophy. ie self governance/ taking responsibility for myself and my actions.
surely my working part time in the NHS (a non-consumerist and humanitarian vocation) demonstrates self reliance and social responsibility?
your a bright bloke vidal, which bit is so difficult for you to understand?

Well, we both work for the NHS, kernow. I don't know if it's still the case but it used to be the second largest employer in the world after the Indian Railway. I'm guessing that like me you get paid. Like me you've made a decision about where you want to live. I'm guessing you use the money you earn to buy food, etc, and to do the stuff you like doing. I take responsibility for my life like you do. I understand that the rules of society are that I get paid to work and then after I've paid my taxes it's up to me what I do with it.

So we're very similar in that respect. I just don't understand where the anarchist philosophy comes in. Am I an anarchist through the choices I have made, and if not, why not?

i think the chinese army has knocked the NHS into 3rd place (probably cos serco own half the NHS now).

not sure if you can quantify your philosophical stance on things really.
some people may view our actions or lifestyles as "christian" or "socialist". my lack of interest in consumerism/ commercialism may be viewed as buddhist or even taoist. in another culture you would be seen as a healer or sage.

iv read a fair bit of theology and philosophy and come to some conclusions which broadly fit under the "anarchist" umbrella. iv found religion subordinating and anarchy empowering. i spose its as much a state of mind as a state of presence.
are you an anarchist? yeah if you wanna be i reckon.... send me £10 and i'll send you a badge and membership card.
