Starting slow. have said it loads of time recently. We start slow every single game.
You cannot afford to start slow in this league, or you will be on the back foot.
And as for Sherwood throwing Bentaleb to the wolves yesterday ...
his line up was not good. Clearly needed a DM. If not sandro then Capoue. Clearly needed Eriksen on left... too light weight in centre v yaya and fernandinho.
That line up was bollox to be honest with you.
Bentaleb has had a little run, now with all young players needs some time out the limelight, he will have learnt a lot yesterday, but to suggest he is a better player than Capoue is simply laughable.

I think he was positionally sound and got in the way, as is the role of a pure DM. They tend to go unnoticed unless they're exceptional ie Sandro.

Capoue was one of our better players second half I reckon

but it'll be interesting to see whether Tim can swallow his pride and pick the better player.
-------------------------------
Don't think he has much choice with Sandro and Paulinho back. If he sticks to Bentaleb and puts either of them on the bench I'll be fuming!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering he was so quick to return Ade to the lineup I do hope he realises the error of his own ways and puts the team first. Especially with Dembele out..?

Bentaleb is not to blame for the way we play
-------
don't think anyone has said he is?
pretty much all of us quite like him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know that you know that he is not to blame but reading some of the other post on here it seems that others think that you do blame him

Like they say in the land of Essex: shutuuuuuuuuuuup!
we are all on the same wavelength with Bentaleb.
Great prospect no doubt but just too young for getting up against Yaya Toure.
So chill!

How can someone clueless get wins against Saints when Arsene Wenger's team drew there and United when we were playing away at OT?
Explain please

Chronic I was thinking the same. Thought Bentaleb looked well outclassed last night and it can't help his development. We needed a strong experienced midfield to have any chance, probably Lennon, Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho and Eriksen. Three of those can defend/hustle and Lennon will track back. Sadly two of those five were unavailable.
