Morning all
I think most Spurs fans (myself included) quite like Siggy as a player but despite the odd goal I'm really struggling to think of a contribution he's made to our team this season.
Playing in the hole is probably his best position and admittedly it's hard to judge against City but he just looked quiet and lost all game (as he so often does).
We've now tried him in every spot except striker and I'm starting to think he may be the odd one out. Just look at our midfield options...
Holding - Sandro, Capoue
Central - Dembele, Bentelab, Holtby, Paulinho, Eriksen,
Wingers: Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Lamela, Eriksen
Number 10: Eriksen, Soldado, Kane, Chadli, Lamela
On loan/youth: Livermore, Carroll, Pritchard, Ceballos, Falque
So I just wanted to hear some opinions - is he good enough? What's his best position? Should we sell him?

I think he was always seen as a talented player who would develop into an attacking mid. Unfortunately he just hasn't kicked on with us

Sure, if by stole you mean offered a more attractive prospect...

Well you either sold him a lie or offered more money, which is it?

I think it was the attractive draw of not living in Liverpool

So he went for London, not primarily for Spurs then?
Well done on that coup of a signing, as well as all the others you've made recently
Reality is he was offered more money by Spurs, Rodgers refused to offer him more than he had agreed to at Swansea.
We got Coutinho instead

Glad we dodged this bullet

Don't rate him on the wing. Could be a decent number 10, but not as good as Eriksen or Lamela.
If we could get £8-10m i would sell

I doubt anybody would pay anything like that for such an average player. Looks like Liverpool were right to stick with their guns and refuse to pay over the odds for a player who is only ever likely to be squad filler in the better premier league clubs.

Siggy not good enough to be starting for spurs regularly...
Holtby over him everyday of the week.
But like the OP said Siggy is defo not a wide man

It is baffling, AVB had a soft spot for Siggy and now so does Sherwood.
I fail to see what he brings to the team, and he is next to useless (apart from an occasional goal) playing from the left. Sherwood should have picked Chadli there against City.
I think we should be selling or loaning Siggy, rather than Holtby or Capoue
