Really not sure about this signing. I assume it is a very pragmatic decision to buy someone who is currently scoring goals at this level - a 18 month contract suggests it is indeed short term thinking. As such probably quite smart.
We have settled on 4-2-3-1 in recent weeks and actually started to look pretty good at it. I assume Leon goes in as the '1' and Dicko drops back to play off him. Anybody see it differently?
This being the case we have probably seen the last of Doyle - unfortunate really as he ought to be the ideal no.10 and indeed played there second-half earlier in the week.
We now have a squad that should be more than capable of returning us to the Championship. My only worry would be cover for KMac - he is the engine room of how we now play and I don't see any of the other midfielders having the same passing range......unless you want to count one Jamie O'Hara.......
Lucky Leon?

Bloody hell, I hope not tino.
I will quite disappointed if Kenny changes things right now, we have clicked in a big way the last month or so with this new system.
If Leon doesn't fit into it then leave him in the bench as an alternative for now, don't change the system to accommodate one player.

So we sign the divisions top scorer and try not to fit him into our system.....genius

Haha, j mean I hope Kenny sees him as the focal point of that system
Not that he reverts to a 4-4-2 to accommodate him.

clarke
whatever we all think about the clarke signing, he has been brought in to score goals and not to sit on the bench.

Yeah, I reckon that is the plan GB.

I wonder if this country is becoming obsessed with
4-2-3-1
What happened to the old English 4-4-2?
If Clarke keeps scoring... If Dicko keeps scoring, there is no choice but to play two of the most dangerous players in the league
I would like to think in a few weeks we'd go into the last ten games of the season like this:
----------------------------Ikeme
Doherty---------Batth----------Stearman----------Ricketts
Jacobs----------Price----------McDonald----------Sako
-------------------Clarke-----------Dicko

Maybe it will work, but what we do know for sure is that 4-2-3-1 does work.
