Doom merchants

We're not buying anyone

It's all Wenger's fault

Then as soon as we win the next 2 or 3 games all will be forgotten.

Does our squad need strengthening? I believe so. Is it all over if we do not strengthen? Not in my opinion. We're second behind possibly the best team ever assembled in the PL history. The most expensive. I'm surprised we're second and our team has exceeded expectations. We could possibly be top next week. So it's good.

Moreover if we buy big, what is to say the player will not settle immediately? Look at Spurs. They bought many players and many of us were casting envious glances over at that tin pot team. Capoopoo was once mooted to be on our radar and many wanted him. Well would you buy him now? Draxler is class. But I believe he needs a pre-season in order to make an immediate impact. Ozil probably needs a season before he starts to boss games as he will.

Instead of looking for grey clouds, look at the silver lining and get behind our team. Some of you guys seem to be looking at our next poor result with glee.

Galindo.

Campbell.

Inspiration from Wenger there.

And how good was he when he joined? It took him months to settle into the pace of our game. Santi settled immediately because he had a pre season.

Who Galindo?

Monreal was fine when he joined. Certainly way better than Santos - who signed in the summer.

No one is suggesting Draxler is the man to lead us to the title this season, however there is a genuine concern that not signing him now will mean it'll be harder to secure him at all.

As for other January signings, Adebayor, Walcott and Diaby all came in the same window. None of those players' failures had anything to with the time of year they were signed.

Conversely, Gervinho, Santos, Silvestre, Park and Chamakh were all summer signings and were all diabolical.

What makes no sense to me is people saying we should wait till summer to bring in players because it's a risk to bring them in now? So it makes sense to buy the same player later because he MIGHT not hit the ground running rather than at least there being a chance they'll be an asset this season?

I don't get the logic

Also. Should we no longer sign players in the last few days of summer? By the 'no time to bed in argument' pretty much all our recent signings have been risky and should've been put on hold till early the following summer...

There's always one monng that makes out any kind of disappointment in the club is a hatred of Wenger.

A majority of fans DONT want Wenger out, especially on here. In fact, on here, you're turned into some kind of hate figure if you do openly want him out. What a majority of fans DO want, is a change in the club's transfer philosophy. Something to bring it up to date with modern times and something we've been promised for a decade.

Wanting a positive change in the club doesn't necessarily mean wanting Wenger to be given his P45.

Exactly Alv. Most fans just want the club to maximise it's quality on the pitch which means spending a fair bit of our available funds rather than leaving them to silent Stan n co

Alvin, spot on mate.

It's one of the things I hate about the JA Arsenal board, just how tribalistic everything is, and how everything is in black and white, leaving no room for objective debate
