Backup To Giroud??

Why were/are so concerned with getting back-up for him? Do people not realise that if we want to get to where we wanna be he needs to be backup? Oli must be letting the old gaffer have a go on his wife as he has somehow retained a spot for nearly 2 years now. RVP is still yet to be replaced. We were after Suarez and Higuain in the summer which told the story of where we thought Giroud should be at and I don't see why such thoughts should be changed. Giroud has a decent flick on and is good at defending for us but as far as taking chances are concerned he's average, it's quite depressing that we've gone from such mobile able forwards to these new static target men (Chamakh, Bendtner). Wonder goals are a thing of the past and we now have to really graft to score and hope for our defence to see things out once we do.

He's done okay up till now but certainly hasn't convinced to be the man to fire us to the league. He bottles the big games I'd rather play Nicky B in the 6 pointers because whether good or bad on the day at least he won't hide. Oli will miss sitters then hide for the duration, he really can't be trusted and I see how upset Mesut gets when he can't utilise his creativity on him.
Giroud is not terrible by any means but he's not in that top bracket for me infact there are probably 10 forwards in this league alone better than him which is bad on our part as title chasers
Aguero, Rooney, RVP, Sturridge, Suarez, Negredo, Dzeko, Remy, Bony, Lukaku that's top of the dome there's more.

I understand top strikers were hard to find in Jan (I'm just going to say this for arguments sake) but come summer if we're still looking for 'alternatives' to Giroud rather than straight replacements, the great mans logic will have to seriously be questioned yet again

I'd be open to a partnership for Giroud next season involving another top striker but it would be at one of our playmakers expense which he isn't worth it for. Next season a top forward who can play up top alone is key!

Maybe Giroud would be top class under Allardyce and Pullis but as far as ground football in concerned he's not the answer we are looking for

Dont expect much from the summer.

But he is just saying he doesn't want to replace Giroud so that Giroud gets confidence from that.
--------------------
His confidence needs too much protection which actually says it all about his level. Top strikers thrive off competition or proving doubters wrong. Look at Dzeko for example hates the bench but is always looking to prove himself upon opportunity. Even Sturridge going to Liverpool when Suarez was there and forcing them to operate with 2 forwards. We need that forward with a bit of arrogance.

Giroud admitted he was worried by Higuain's possible arrival in the summer told it's own story .

Giroud wasn't gonna be dropped in Jan, our style of play depends a lot on Giroud and would have to be altered if we signed a different kind of striker. Couldn't see AW doing that in January. Maybe in the Summer though.
-----------------------

Our style of play only depends a lot on Giroud because he doesn't score enough goals, so he holds the ball up for the little guys. But if we bought a prolific striker in Jan then we would not have to rely so much on the hold up play of Giroud.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn't make any sense.

Big Willy

No he doesn't, he looks so distraught when he misses then avoids getting the ball after a while don't forget West Ham game when Theo and Pod had to save his bacon!

He was afraid of Higuain and wanted Suarez at Arsenal. Mmmmhhhh..give it a rest you clown.

Wanted Suarez because he thought he could play with him. As he can tuck in behind the striker but as far as direct competition is concerned he wanted nothing to do with Gonzalo.

So again..... tells it's own story GT just accept he's cack and you won't have to be down every week trying to prove otherwise, hurts me as it does you bro
