Have had enough

I have not been on here all season because I did not want to add to the negative feelings. But today I just have to say something because I have had enough. Yesterday was yet another defeat. If someone asked me to name the last day when we last won a match, I do not think I could do so. After reading DF's comments on the match I can only assume he was watching another match yesterday. His after match comments are often crazy. After the Huddersfield match in early December he started his comments by saying "we did alright". WE DID ALRIGHT? We just lost at home to Huddersfield where a few seasons ago even Wenger was afraid to bring Arsenal.
After Allardyce we have had four really bad managers, with the latest one possibly the worst of the lot. Why do I say this? We had the worst start to a season that anyone can remember, we had the worst defeat in a game anyone can remember and we are just above the relegation zone of the Championship. How can anyone come to another conclusion?
The only hope of getting anything out of this season was the FA cup and we have even dropped out of that recently. As it was all we had left, we had everything to play for against Cardiff and we had the home advantage. Cardiff at the time were bottom of the Premiership, and had nothing to play for in the FA cup, as Premiership survival was more important to them. Against this background we still managed to lose.
DF has to go and I hope it is as soon as tomorrow, and Gartside should not feel safe after appointing four totally useless managers.

I have a massive downer on the club at the moment but I am quick to separate the issues so not to blame DF for absolutely everything.... DF in my opinion is a disaster, and is in no way connected to my dislike to the Chairman... DF and his decision making and signings and stubbornness have little to do with finance in my opinion....

Take Moritz... In DFs words this man was a gift to the fans who would entertain and take us forward... Ok, you can't legislate for injuries and so we have not seen much of him.... But the last two away games, he has been an unused sub when we have been chasing the game.. Instead DF brought Trotter on for Danns...

5 midfielders no wingers and one striker is an absolute disgrace... I don't want his Counter Attacking strategy because it is not working and not what I want to see...

Definitely the worst, without a doubt. Didn't have the pedigree to be appointed here in the first place, so no guesses as to who should shoulder the blame for that!

I can't be bothered to be angry anymore. I'm just saddened that a once proud football club is dead in all but name. Eddie has allowed Phil Gartside to mismanage us on a scale that would make Nick Leeson blush.

Tell you what Peter..... I have not seen anyone on here go on such a downer as you.... The old positive man has been replaced by Mr Negative....

Being married eh....

No MT, just feeling my age to be honest. It's like after almost forty years of following the Trotters we're in pretty much exactly the same place we were when I went to my first match only this time we're so deep in the financial mire daylight has to be imported. The manager keeps spouting positive can do junk, the players don't look like they give a monkey's despite being on more money per week than most of us earn in a year and the chairman says "all is well" when Stevie Wonder could see it isn't. In all seriousness I think the spirit that used to pervade our club and kept us all believing no matter what has died.

Being married has actually made me more aware of that because Wendy is amazing and so are the children. I can think of much better ways of spending the time and money I use to follow the Trotters and get some quality time in with our kids before they start to fly the nest. I don't feel good about going to the match anymore, not the way I used to and win lose or draw the atmosphere around the Reebok is nothing like it used to be. Football just doesn't feel like fun now. Am I alone in that?

You are definitely not alone. I have seen the word 'apathy' typed by so many people on here and Nuts. Also, the fact attendances have fallen to 12-14k show exactly how fans are feeling.

Personally though, my passion burns as strong as ever. Their is no logical explanation for this. Its just the way it is. There is also no doubt that life events affect the way supporters feel. It must be hard justifying shelling out to watch garbage when you have a new wife and young family. I was lucky that I eent through that stage in my life when Big Sam was in charge, so we all went together. Good timing I suppose. I am single again now , so I can decide when I go.

Need to start winning games to change peoples moods.

Benny, that may be true, but doesn't that only apply to fair-weather fans. I went to Southend on Boxing Day, Exeter on a Tuesday night, etc, etc. As I am sure you have made similar crazy trips. Supporting BWFC is a life long committment and is even more important during the bad times!! In my opinion of course.

It's not that I don't support them, on the contrary I've done that all my life and will continue to do so. I just find it hard to motivate myself to keep going to games when the club doesn't seem to care about what's happening.

Even in the darkest days of the eighties the club and fans banded together, there was a genuine bond between us that's now gone. It's not just BWFC but every football club that this is happening at. If you don't believe me look at the Man City forums, the fans are really happy with the big money and the results BUT they also feel it's not THEIR club any more, that in gaining a massively wealthy owner who can afford to buy success they've lost an integral part of what Man City is about. Same with Man Utd, the anti-glazer movement was all about that and it failed which caused many fans to feel they'd lost their club so they formed a new one, FC United of Manchester.

I don't think it's any one club's fault. The FA and Sky have basically become so money oriented that they've killed what was basically the soul of the professional game. It brought some positives such as a lot less holliganism, better stadia and facilities and a genuine increase in the quality of the football being played on pitches that don't resemble Flanders Field in 1917 BUT it also detached the players and clubs from the fans in a way that I believe is harmful to the game.

lPp - I wasn't insinuating for one second that you no longer supported our magnificent club. Your point about SKY and money in general is spot on.

But I believe this is a society wide issue and not just confined to football...

Everyone lives for instant gratification. TV is full of nobodies chasing the big buck for a few minutes fame on some reality show or another. Kids are being brainwashed by magazines that they need to be size zero to be a success.

The tinters along with Social Media means that people have instant access to everything that is going on anywhere within the world within seconds of it happening. Families rarely sit down and talk. Let alone share a meal around a table - heaven forbid!!

Instant gratification = the crazy number of managerial sackings. I mean, Laudrup!! Seriously!!!

And I could go on all day, so will leave it for now
