My god the cars look horrible and the engines sound absolutely awful. Have lost that hallmark F1 engine sound that sounded so spine tingling.
Real shame.
What has happened to F1?

Thanks for the replies.
I still think the cars sound rubbish. I remember growing up a kid, playing with my toy cars mimicking the unique scream of the F1 cars. What sound will the kids make now? hahah
They sound like sickly, dead animals.

That's a bit harsh, you will get used to the sound and enjoy it

Sickly dead animals? - that was the Renault then.

JB was in manchester with the mclaren, i was 10 ft away from an F1 engine at full tilt. Loads of non F1 fans around us where impressed most by the sound. The sound is important, and i think has taken a step back.

I have been listening to a YouTube recording of the engines from the Jerez 2014 test and from the Jerez 2013 test and I can't tell the difference between the two engines.

A couple of things you need to take account of are
1. the 2014 engines were not being run at full 15,000 revs.
2. The recordings were not “broadcast” quality.
3. Everyone at the track has to wear ear defenders, including the spectators
4. My headphones are from ASDA
Has anyone got a pair of Dr Dre Beats they can lend me?
