Shortly Stringy will be going to Japans capital Tokyo to take part in a marathon. Now i know you might not want him back but he is near his target of raising £10,000 for a local charity so if you fancy supporting him go to https://www.justgiving.com/IanStringer.

Big amounts of cash for a good cause, well done
But where ever you are in the world a marathon is 26.2 miles, just wondering why he has to go all the way to Japan to go for a run

I’m actually a Stringer fan!
You only have to listen to some other commentators (John Barber anyone?) to realise he’s pretty good for local radio. Ok, some of his banter is a bit banal and he can be quite immature and desperate, but you can’t fault his enthusiasm.
The fact that’s he’s obviously a genuine Leicester fan only adds to his appeal. I can imagine I might think differently if I was an opposition fan tuning in, but then it is radio Leicester.

How ironic.
Good luck to him anyway; the Tokyo marathon must be quite an experience, and such a massive cultural shift. Plus, hopefully he can get a wave from Yuki Abe while he's there.
