One thing I could never understand is why people leave their seats while the match is in progress Two people who sit in front of me missed both of our goals yesterday. It's like going to the cinema and walking out 5 mins from the end and not knowing who dunnit. Seeing city score a last minute goal is always great and thousands must have missed that Drinkwater goal yesterday. Why do they bother coming.

Of the hundreds and hundreds of games that I've attended over the past 35 years, home and away, I've only left early once. Blackburn Rovers away in the middle of winter on a Tuesday night in 1980 something. I think it was raining. We were 6-0 down and playing quite atrocious football. I left with 2 minutes to go. I got back to my car, turned the radio on and found I'd missed a goal. It was now 7-0! They were most definitely the dark days. Still no excuse to leave early though. Whether we've played well or not, won, drawn or lost, you should still be there at the end to show you appreciation of their efforts (even in a 7-0 defeat).
I was at Newcastle one time when we lead 4-1 with 5 minutes to go. If I'd have left then, I'd never have seen Mark McGhee's hat-trick as we conspired to lose 5-4

You can add in arriving late too. Also leaving early at half time (to get in the queue for a beer?).

"What on earth do they have to rush home for".
Yes, precisely.

Well actually Cheryl Cole was round my house yesterday and put me on a promise if I could get back a little bit early from the match - I didn't miss the equaliser, but she was gone when I got back - I'm kinda regretting it now though

Wouldn't have missed that equaliser for anything! Cheryl's not that busy these days, I'm sure she'd have waited for you!

Next time she gives me grief I'll say "what do you expect, it's not like you look like Cheryl Cole is it"

The only Cole I'd find waiting for me would be a bucket of the stuff waiting for me to get on with getting a fire started because the place was freezin'.

I could be assumed to be one who leaves early but actualy I go and find a vacated seat by the exit.
With a two and half hour drive or a train to London and tube to Waterloo then another train, its good to leave when the ref blows for time.
