Why you should stick with Moyes

I just wanted to give you an outsiders perspective on why you should stick with Moyes. Sure it sucks to be losing and doing poorly, but trust me, changing your manager every year isn’t good for the club as a whole.

I don't know if you can put all the blame at Moyes' door to be honest. In reality fergie is right, even if you come 6th (as looks likely), then moyes should be given time. In no other profession would you expect such quick results. It is illogical to just go around firing football managers. You would undermine the manager position if you did this.

The point with fergie is everyone knew he was the man. Look at chelsea and city players forcing their managers out. It makes the players not take responsibility for their actions. They still get cheered. They still get the love of the fans. They still get paid. With Man united, under Fergie, Fergie wasn’t going anywhere. So the players had to take responsibility. They couldn’t just play poorly and lose only for the manager to get blasted in the press. No, under Fergie the players got blasted and quite rightly so.

In any walk of life, if your manager doesn’t have a secure job then you will lose respect for them and might not care what they say. Then everything falls apart. I feel sorry for Moyes because the players don’t seem to have respect for him, which isn’t his fault – it is a result of the modern footballing culture.

Your club should come out and say that whatever happens you will stick with Moyes for 5 more years. This way you can build something based on continuity. And short term results will probably improve too. Man united IS the biggest club in the world. I don’t particularly like Man united or fergie, but he is right about the need for manager stability. If you sack Moyes then it will be a mistake. Your hardcore fans know this. I have sat in Man united away ends (as a neutral) and your away hardcore fans are incredible. They still stick by Moyes, and so should all the rest of your fans AND your club.

Big clubs like man united shouldn’t go around sacking their manager after 10 defeats. You should stick with him long term or you will regret it. Long term stability is so important. Fergie proved it. Fergie knows it and so should you.

I haven't agreed with you on anything. No one has. Not even the resident morons.

You should be worried about that.

What the hell has brought you to that conclusion?

This is honestly just a load of waffle. You've not provided us with any actual reasons as to why we should stick by Moyes apart from the fact that we had stability with our previous manager and because he said we should stick by him.

Stability, longevity, continuity or whatever you want to call it, isn't as important as some people think.

The two most successful periods in the club's history in which we had sustained success, didn't just come about because the managers were afforded time, it was mainly because in SAF and SMB, we had two outstanding man-managers/coaches and there is no comparison between Moyes and SAF as one took over a team which had just won the title and the other a team who was floundering in the bottom half of the table.

It would be a lot more easier to support and give Moyes more time (not that I don't still support Moyes because I of course want him to turn this situation around and do as well as possible), if there were some encouraging signs but unfortunately at the moment, there is nothing to be positive about and I'm sorry, but he hasn't justified giving him another year nevermind 5.

Trophies really aren't the be all and end all for me when supporting United. I think more than anything, I like to see exciting football that's fun to watch. If we were playing in a way that was remotely attractive, I'd be a bit more patient but we're not even doing that.

We have on rare occasions this season played some good football under Moyes, mainly in the Champions League where we've been afforded more space than we have been against teams domestically and that for me was something that should've been built upon but it wasn't. We've regularly played the most boring and uninspiring brand of football I've ever witnessed from a United side.

I'm also curious OP as to how you've managed to get tickets for our away games as it's quite annoying to know that someone who as you say doesn't particularly like United, gets tickets for our away games while people like myself who have applied for tickets for quite a lot of away games over the last few years, get sod all?
