If Jan 31st wasn't confirmation that Wenger lost his ambition then last night certainly was, the only way to bounce back from Liverpool was a convincing win Vs a very weak United team it was time to go for the jugular, the same man that saw his team get smashed 8-2 by them and his star player represent them had to show some desire of thrashing them but to take a draw was a painful and it told the whole story, the man doesn't want it anymore.
Now I won't scream or abuse the great man in this post but I think it's time for a change you look at what Rodgers is building at Liverpool, Martinez at Everton, Laudrup's 1st season at Swansea (his downfall was lack of financial backing, balancing EL and league football was always a big ask for such a light squad), AVB's 1st season at Spurs was pretty good and all went downhill once Bale left, Pochettino at Soton etc.. it's all about these new fresh managers with good philosophy's and we need to jump on the wave. We need to adapt to this new pressing style most teams seem to have. Wenger only has 1 trick up his sleeve and that's to dominate possession and eventually find an opening but on days where that won't happen for us, we'll never collect all 3 points, everyone outsmarts him these days and the big teams always get the results they want against us.
Wenger's blind faith in Giroud is also an issue, when I saw how frustrated he got on the touchline vs City away at that moment I was certain Arsene was desperate for a forward but I think had we spent reasonably big in jan the expectation of trophies would have risen dramatically and I get the feeling he doesn't want that pressure, he'd rather try and over-achieve and win it with a weaker team against expectation than actually be a strong contender due to the risk of falling short. The ambition has really gone which is sad to see but it's becoming a young manager's sport in our league and it's time for us to change it up come the summer I think. I just can't take another trophyless year this is not where we belong we shouldn't be looking over our shoulders at Liverpool and Spurs to be honest.
Don't use Moyes as an example because we all know United/Fergie hired the WRONG man, it's as simple as that, he's also an old manager anyway.

Klopp
De Boer (can bring Bergkamp with him)
Laudrup
They don't even need to be the worlds best at the minute just need to have clear tactical talent, ambition and drive. It's a risk but it's worth taking because we're stuck in the same 3rd/4th spot in the league and we have the players capable of succeeding we have to progress because soon Wenger will start a trophyless drought for his top 4 trophy soon enough with the way these other teams are growing. We were told to wait for this particular time where we would be financially strong and we have waited and seen very little change. I'm now off the belief that Ozil was reactionary to the first day
Legend and grateful for what he's done for the club but it's time to call it a day I think

What we shouldn't fog here is that whether it was in January or the pervious summer, Wenger f'cked up by not buying another striker.
When it happened isn't the issue. That it happened at all is. <ok.

The only criticism I would make of AW & the Arsenal board is they should have gone in for Suarez with a minimum £50m bid last year, instead of messing around with a bid of £40m and a penny

No real ambition. If you want someone you put down the money end of, not haggle over a penny etc. It was all a PR stunt to show "we're competing". 50mill seems a bargain now.
