Well I was one of the 300+ that travelled from on coach from Selhurst. We arrived at midday and left at12.45. We got to Stafford around 5.30. From then on it was hard work. The M6 was crawling along and it took an hour to get to Stoke. We turned off and started taking the scenic route. We heard that Man City was off and lots of Everton fans asking for the game to be called off. I think everyone accepted we weren't going to be there for kick off. Our coach got near Crewe about 40 miles away before we found out it was called off. Apparently another coach got 11 miles away from the ground before they found out.
On the way back we saw some trees had come down and the traffic heading north was horrendous. We got back to Selhurst Park just after midnight.
It was a disappointing but hearing other stories we were lucky to get back at midnight! I think Everton FC wanted the game to go ahead but it wasn't their decision to call it off. However it could have been much worse if someone had been crushed by a chimney or severed by a flying tile!
Did anyone make it to the ground? What was the weather like?
I guess the morale of this story is that everyone suffers from wind
Red (and blues) weather warning

These things happen, was a police decision and probably the best all round. I was up in Aberdeen so at least I get to watch it....when it gets rescheduled

I'm not blaming anyone for it and like you say these things happen. If there was a serious risk of people getting hurt then ultimately it's the right decision. I just wondered what the weather was like up there by those who made it? Or maybe there was just a lonely Malaysian fan wandering around an empty Goodison Park?

I got half way there to my pre mstch boozer. Had to walk through newsham park were some trees had already blown over at about 18:00. The only complaint I would have had is it should have been called of earlier.
