... performance to a man. Even Garcia stepped up. Ya Ya and Silva were fantastic and Nasri back was just a bonus. Have to say that Milner was a workhorse - so Pellers stop overlooking him and let him start a few matches now.
Really thrilled we shut Maureen up for a while. Even Marty Feldman dropped his blanket and stood up when Nasri scored!!

I'd love to know who Marty actually is or what he does.

I think Lescott proved he is still a better bet than Demic and nasty on this seasons form. If we dont win the PL thats one of the places to point to where we have dropped unnessessary points.

I think they all have different skill sets and Lescott is especially effective against certain opposition; City certainly need him against Chelsea who are a huge aerial threat at set-pieces.
Hence why even if Fernandinho was fit, Garcia was the right player for the job yesterday x

X had Fernandinho been fit I would have thought long and hard about playing Garcia still ....and gone with Fernandinho. A bit like in cricket you shouls always think long and hard about putting the opposition in to bat on a damp wicket then 9 times out of 10 bat first.

Of course if you're gonna play Garcia still!
As slow as he is, you should still play him at his top speed and give him a fighting chance.
I know what you mean though, here's hoping he's back for Barca, and that the recent injury stories are just an elaborate ruse x

Credit where credit is due - Garcia was a revelation yesterday. Why hasn't he played like that in previous games? Maybe because he had Milner to do some covering for him - dunno, but his positioning, timing and anticipation were all what I would expect from a top player.
However, given the choice it would be Fernandinho every single time for me since he has the additional pace to fit into Pel's style of play. Nevertheless I feel we've got a new player in Garcia and I'll be a bit more respectful to him.
Also very good to see Jovetic earning his money eventually.
Somewhat off topic - has anybody seen the Russian Ladies Curling team - wooof.....

I think that Garcia excels against opposition that rely upon size and strength rather than mobility.
He seems to punch above his weight when it comes to strength and he has a hell of a leap. Plus compared with some of those bigger players such as Matic or Fellaini, he has the edge in mobility and skill.
Also, while Milner has rightly received plaudits for his role in yesterdays victory; I think Silva made a huge impact in our defensive play. He seemed to fill in for Fernandinho went it came to interceptions, allowing Garcia to concentrate on marking Chelsea out of the game x

X yep good point about Silva, shows just what a fabulous player he is

I don't think it's a coincidence that our mini dip in form coincided with the end of the transfer window. Dzeko and Garcia were heavily tipped to move on and since their City futures are assured until at least the end of the season there seemed to be new energy in their game.

Think Garcia plays well when he can be a central midfielder / playmaker. Definitely needs help defensively.
Agree about the transfer window with Dezko, but the opposite than you Inky. Think he was hoping to leave and was shopwindowing. After the window shut he's gone back to sucking imo.
