is the ps4 worth buying

Alright chaps....
Ive been waiting for a while until the price comes down to buy this....
But there dosent seem to be much stand out games that would make me wanna buy it......
A good tension filled horror game is what im about (silent hill , resi, dead space etc)

So whats the verdict......is it worth the 400 euros?

Yeah but it will be cheaper on pc and no live sub unlike my xb1

And the difference is very noticeable on a good pc.

Very contradictory. You will spend a whole hell of a lot more to get the game to look and run just as well or better.

For the same price as an xbox one you can build a very good PC, bearing in mind most people already have a great monitor already.

And if you wanna make one that'd do even better, it'd easily pay for itself versus the cost of xb1 in the savings on games and live sub.

PC's cost a lot less than some think.

Very good is pushing it a bit IMO. You can build a decent one. To be able to play games on max settings and take advantage of making games look better than they will on the Xbox One like you're suggesting it will cost a bit more.

Was just going to say the same as Chelsea.

Yes you can build a PC for $400 and yes it will play games, but only at medium settings and only for a limited time not even half as long as the console. After about 2 years this PC will struggle with any new game.

HOWEVER, if you were to build a $800-$1000 PC this will last longer and you will save money on games. So if we say over a 5 year period a console and PC would have cost about the same amount of money to run. And most if not all the time the PC will outperform the Xbone or PS4

Swings and round abouts

I was considering buying it on release, but I waited to play on my mates.

These new gen consoles are really nothing special, yeah graphics and processor are upgraded a bit, but is it really any different to the PS3?

Certainly not £300 worth, not for me anyway.

But then again, I only use it for gaming, I'm sure there are many other uses for it.

I've also had a look at some of the games released so far, none of them really catch my fancy.

I have a PS4 and I have to agree with what everyone's saying. Right now, next-gen consoles are not worth getting because of the lack of games. Within a week of getting my PS4 I went back to my PS3 becuase I wanted to play games such as GTA.

Don't get me wrong the PS4 is a great console. The graphics are on another level at times and going back to the PS3 the graphics just seem so dull. The PS4 is definitely worth getting, just not right now.

Played on both at friends houses and I still hate the PS controller when compared to its Xbox counterpart. The L&R2 buttons just don't feel right in my hand whereas the Xbox controller feels the same but more evolved.

I had originally planned to move to PS4 from my 360 but I just know that controller would bug me so once I've saved enough (hopefully there'll be plenty more games too by then) my big hands and I will be going for the XB1.

Get yourself on Gumtree and look for a pre-owned system. I've seen quite a few around the £300 mark. The machines can't be older than a couple of months, obviously - just make sure you thoroughly check the goods before handing over the cash. Makes sense to me to get a pre-owned one as if you think, the minute you open the seal on on the box of a brand new one, it becomes pre-owned anyway without you having even turned the damn thing on. You're never going to maintain the system's value.
