For all the City fans jibes that Manchester is blue, I have to say that your home support was quite frankly embarrassing tonight. I have never heard a quieter champions league game. Did your fans forget that you were in a champions league knock out tie against Barcelona? And people say that OT is quiet. I had to double check that my speakers weren't broken as the audio was so quiet.

My cousin's husband works in TV production. He's just returned from working in Australia, and a guy who he worked with over there used to be a sound engineer for BBC's outside sports broadcasts. He said when the BBC were at Old Trafford to cover United's live games (I presume it would have been mainly FA Cup games from a few years ago), they would routinely turn down the microphones so they didn't pick up too much noise, giving off the impression the crowd was actually quieter than it was.

Some complete tosh being written on here, mainly by rags so no surprise really. It wasn't anywhere near as quiet as it is being made out to be, TV dumb it down to some degree so the commentary is not affected anyway.
"Navas dived in the lead up to the penalty"? That has to be the stupidest and most biased comment i have read in a long time. navas had the ball at his feet and went to go past his man who fouled him quite clearly to get the ball, why would Navas dive out on the wing miles from the box? To gain a free kick? why? he already had the ball and was taking his man on until he was unfairly fouled. The referee made a poor decision it lead to the penalty, we got beat, it happens when you are playing at this level.
Barca could have had a pen? why? because the ball was played at pace straight into Cliche's hand from a short distance away and his arms were in front of him he did not move hand to ball? behave!
The disallowed Barca goal is similar to the one that Nasri scored recently. Nobody doubted it was a goal until the TV showed replays over and over and froze the action at the millisecond the foot hit the ball. At that precise millisecond the slightest piece of arm or foot is shown to be offside. Really? Are people on this site so gullible as to believe that the game is played that way in reality and that the referee and his assistants have inbuilt TC camera eyes that instantly tell them to the millimeter that a player is/is not offside? It's a judgement call, just like the penalty, was it just on the line or just before? The ref decided it was a penalty, fair enough. Strangely, none of the nay sayers that have claimed the above outrages doubted for a second that it was a penalty. Yet, even their beloved replays had to be shown several times from several angles to determine if it was in or outside when the initial contact was made. It was still debatable but some on this page had no need of such fancy technology, it was a stonewall, clear as day penalty.
Rant over.

RVP are you a grammar teacher or just a simple plank who would rather pick on spelling, sentence structure or paragraphs etc than actually say anything constructive?
Never mind it was rhetorical.
