Will Arsene Splash Cash Again?

With Ozil splitting opinion and taking his time to adapt do you think Arsene will feel comfortable with splashing again? Whether or not you think Mesut has done well we can all agree that he's yet to match his price-tag this year. Also I think it's about time he adapted I don't think we should be waiting a whole season to see his best at least the 2nd half is when he should start to grow, we're nearing the end of feb.

Someone who's opinion is a lot more important on this situation though is Arsene, I know he definitely believes in Mesut and has faith but do you think this form will derail him on big transfers? He really bottled it jan quite frankly and I'm not so sure he'd splash in the summer.

Personally I think we have a number of positions to improve on next season so I wouldn't particularly like to see our budget splashed on 1 player and then scrape (no) change for the rest (like Sanogo & Flamini) but we do need to spend fairly big on high quality though maybe a couple of £20m players as well as replacements for any outs (Sagna, TV, Fabianski?). A striker of high quality that comes at a big price should be an exception though.

Do you think Wenger will spend massively again? Or fairly big (£20m here and there)? Or back to cheap deals/young talent?

We are not man city we can't spend 100 millions each window, buying ozil for 40 millions had broken the trend, we can spend big but only on the right players

The moment AW bought a young striker (Walcott) and stuck him on the wing(!) you should've worried.
The man has built a reputation on the solid team he inherited and 'tweaked' at Arsenal, as he did at Monaco.
It's not Arsenal FC, it's Wenger FC and you poor b-rstards are paying for HIS indulgence.

You deserve better

I'm happy with giving Ozil another year to adapt - we live in a crazy 'success overnight' world. Remember our greatest striker Henry took a season or so to adapt - so we need to be patient. My worry is Ozil's body language. I am sure AW wooed him with the promise of more to come to take Arsenal to the level we should really be competing at, but to sign a crocked MF in January where we have a plethora of talent already is not sending the right signals to the player or fans. Aside from blaming the ref - AW should have looked to strengthen in Jan - I do not mean a striker! Monreal is clearly not cutting the mustard - we needed backup to the likes of Gibbs, Vermaelen etc, and another aggressive Flamini type. That probably would have done it for Jan. A WC striker would not have made a difference last night - and it was worth trying Sanago in any event - the more he plays the more he should gain confidence. Giroud should be rested for a couple or three weeks - so he can come back with something to prove, and I agree that Podolski should be played more - not sure whats happening there.
Anyway - we have nothing to lose in 2 weeks - lets come out storming for the 1st 45mins and see what happens.

We are a rich club. I can't believe how the creative accountants cooked the books to show a £2m loss for thefirst 6 months . I'm sure it's a tax dodge.

We should be able to spend at least £70 to 80M every year without batting an eye lid.

Things are not always obvious.

For example I believe Puma are willing to contribute £15m+ for Balotelli. That takes his transfer fee down to £15m and brings the outlay to £45m.

£45m is net what Wenger can spend.

We will have ample wage space with very high earners like Sagna, Vermalean, Podolski and possibly Giroud going and mid earners like Rosicky, Diaby, Fabianski and Bendtner also leaving.

Wasn't you sure we were signing Higuain and then Suarez Jenius?

Nope. I said Suarez had a release clause. We made an attempt to sign Higuain but Real Madrid put the price up and Suarez's agent botched up his contract.

Don't see how you can blame Wenger for that?

Well if Özil is to live up to expectation Wenger has to spend big to accommodate him

Yes he will

It looks quite clear to a lot of fans that Ozil is tired. I think both mentally and physically. Hes gone from playing in a league with some easy games and a nice winter break to 2 hard games a week and no break.

Give him time and he will come good.
