What an absolute bell. This is his comment on BBC about the West Brom/Fulham game after West Brom are awarded an equaliser through goal line technology:
"Maarten Stekelenburg should really have held on to that shot from Matej Vydra. He'd played well before that as well. To be honest. I'm not a fan of goal-line technology. We never used to have it and I think the game was fine without it. Football shouldn't be all about science!"
So they're quite rightfully awarded a goal through technology and helps them achieve a point which could potentially keep them up and he has the nerve to suggest we don't need it.

only has a job because hes black.

That doesn't even make sense seeing as there are 50 black former players who are more intelligent and articulate than him.

Right on.

So the guy is more of a traditionalist just the same as several other former players and I am pretty sure a few ex Pool players hold the same stance

Oh my God
Seriously he said that? What a complete clown/

He has to write something because he cant criticise the ref for allowing/disallowing an goal incorrectly..
God forbid he had any insight on the actual game itself!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't stand him. Haven't even read the article apart from the first sentence!

Trouble is with Crooks that's his attitude is widely held at the FA. They can't move with the times.

I think Gareth Crooks, not a bad footballer in his day, is trying to make a living, but tries too hard. He is over-analytical, too complicated, and loses the plot. I've tried to listen to him in the past, but I've given up, and switched off. That's just me, but I suspect I am not alone in thinking like this. He's not quite Tyldsley, but he's almost there. Schise, Rooneys just scored a fantastic goal.

the problem the bbc have is that they dont make it clear that they would be replacing crooks, not sharing the sofa with him

Agree with Red,Garth Crooks too serious and over analysis everything and as im sure very knowledgable but needs to work on his personality toward the tv viewer, always appeared to have fun when he was playing needs to transfer this to his punditry.Just chill a bit Garth!!

Crooks was a decent player, but as a pundit he is absolutely hopeless.
He would rather see the wrong decision being made because of "science" was involved
It's about time the BBC gave this waffling Luddite his cards.
