Now, you could buy five Naismith quality players for £15m. Would that be better than paying £15m for a player who would be a vital cog in the machine in the tactics that Martinez employs?

No.

You need the right player for the right role. Naismith is decent at everything, not special at anything.

If you have a player who is special at one thing, then you have somebody who can fill a role in what is very much so a team game, in terms of Martinez' tactics.

You need eleven of those and you become much better than the individual components of the squad.

Swansea did it with Martinez and later Rodgers. It works.
