What was the point in letting Anderson go?

Our central midfield is so immobile and lethargic, I was never Anderson's greatest fan and know he was regularly slated by a lot of Utd fans but at least the guy played with urgency and had the abillity to guy past a player. I'd rather have kept Anderson as least until the end of the season and play him ahead of Cleverly who literally offers nothing.

I have always said that when Anderson is fit, Cleverley, Fletcher, Gibson and Giggs should never be in the midfield ahead of him.

he was injury prone that was his only major flaw in my eyes

and our previous manager never fancied him, for whatever reason even when fit when he was clearly better than the other cms. But when a manager like fergie makes a decision you accept it is for good reason.

SAF sort of tells you in his book why he fell out with Anderson. It was from the first CL final against Barca.

Yeah he scapegoated Anderson for that one but doesn't explain why he would then give him a new contract in Dec 2010, bizarre.

...........

Or why after 45 minutes of our midfield two of Carrick and Anderson against Busquets, Inesta and Xavi, SAF would haul off Anderson and replace him with Tevez.

Because he was renown for (And much liked in these parts) for running around. He got a doing in the book as well for his performance.

get these articles once every few months. our midfield is so poor and a knee jerk lets bring back Anderson article.

good at running past the odd player and then hollywood hoofing it out for a goal kick. If Anderson is the answer to our midfield im not sure what the question is.

Hardly knee jerk, I'm not saying he's the answer because quite clearly he isn't but at the end of the day he is still far superior to Cleverly and would inject a bit of pace into the middle. How is loaning him out in any beneficial when it's blatantly obvious we are already woefully short in that area.

He's your Diaby... very good player when fit and can definitely bring different beneficial qualities to the team! I'm quite sad he wasted so much time with you guys, he was made into a box-box player when he was dubbed the next Ronaldihno...
