Southampton host Liverpool in the Premier League's late kick-off on Saturday evening.
The Saints are in ninth place in the Premier League and sitting rather comfortable within an eight-point gap between themselves and 10th-placed West Ham United. But they have lost their last couple of games, having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Sunderland before losing 3-1 to the Hammers last weekend.
Liverpool are in very good form since the turn of 2014 having dropped points in only two matches and are so far unbeaten. Their last outing was an entertaining victory at home to Swansea City, a match in which both their lethal attack and frail defence were equally displayed. But a victory today would lift Liverpool into second place due to Manchester City's involvement in the Capital One Cup and Arsenal's loss to Stoke City.
Southampton have doubts over Jos Hooiveld (eye) and Victor Wanyama (knock).
Liverpool have doubts over Mamadou Sakho (hamstring), while Sebastian Coates (knee), Jose Enrique (knee) and Lucas (knee) miss out.

OK, I now consider you contenders. Funnily enough, not with us, with Man City as I don't think we can win the league with our lack of fire power.

Eh? You're 4 clear of is and your destiny is in your own hands. Plus you have a manager who has a habit of winning things and the most favourable run in!
You need to stop swallowing Jose media lines buddy.

"We made the decision to leave our two up front all the time, and if teams want to go two on two against Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge - then all the best."
