Why are people writing off Schurrle as a striker after just one performance which happened to be away to the Champions of England in a game where the team was set up to get a draw ?

Jeez give the guy a chance.

If Schurrle had played up front a few times for us and been crap I could understand people writing off this idea but that simply isn't the case.

Schurrle has experience of playing as a striker in the Bundesliga and even in the worst case scenario that he was crap I don't see how he could be any worse than Torres.

I don't get why Schrulle gets written off but so many here were so far up KDB's ar.se, just because he had a good pre-season against pub players from Indonesia and Malaysia The stats in the Bundesliga between the two was also very similar, only difference is Schrulle did it playing for a team competing for the top 4.

I think Schrulle with Eto'o is an excellent idea, but Willian has been pretty great for us as well. Oscar has been losing it a bit, but it's forgivable due to the immense amount of games he has played over the calendar year. I'd say put Willian in the middle with Schrulle wide right forward and Hazard in his best position.

I wouldn't stick Schrulle as a lone striker up-front, his play with his back to goal is not that impressive, making runs from the channel is impressive though.

Also Superb that was his 30th game this season, so I win the bet again I'll think of a good username for you soon

Stopped reading when you said we created plenty of chances. Even today schrulles first two were our first two real chances we created and defending was anonymous. We had 1 shot 1st half due to a goalkeepering f up

Torres had a good shot at the end of the first half as well, but yeah first half was extremely scrappy.

That reverse flick cross by Hazard was , if only Torres finished that he would have created something special!

Not a surprise he got a hat-trick for Germany, their play is a heck of a lot more fluid.
Kroos and Bastian in deep midfield positions that game, a sight to behold. Both wonderful distributors and ball players. Attacking players next to Schurrle not bad either that day.
