back in the summer, you'd have welcomed it with open arms........
Im sorry, I resent this statement to the fullest. Our mindset in the summer was very different to what it is now, and justifiably so, after being top for so long. It is nonsense to use this as means of a justification for not reacting negatively to our current results/form.
If an average man wins a million pounds, then suddenly loses half of it, does he not have the right to feel agrieved at his loss?
Just had to put it out there
Just tired of hearing that phrase, its almost as bad 'like a new signing'
If you had been offered this position......

We are a rich man though. A rich man that was in a position to make a lot of money through a lucrative business deal. And that deal has gone south because we messed up some of the details. And so the people on our side of the deal are very angry with us, and rightly so.
That is a better analogy. We didn't lose half of the million, we lost all of it. We are NOT better off than last year, we are in the same place. In fact, if Fergie was still at United we would be finishing outside the top 4 so we have kind of gone backwards.

4 points off the top in March and a very winnable fixture away from Wembley. Some might even call that progress.

We're not in an awful position by any means, but we have slipped up of late and needless to say, there are fears creeping in about whether we're going to capitulate again and understandably so.
Losing today was poor, as was the draw at Southampton and the tonking at Anfield, as well as the draw at home to United. If we wanted to realistically win the title, we should have got 8/9 points from those 4 matches and we have ended up getting 2 out of 9. It simply isn't good enough.
I accept that every team has a bad day at the office, but at this stage of the season, there is very little margin for error and I question whether we have learnt from our mistakes.

Not if that 4 points gap increases and we dont go all the way in the FA cup.

If we lose our next 2 league games we could be 13 points off the top so we MUST beat Spurs and at least draw against Chelsea to still be in the race.
