Vs Cardiff review.

Went today, 2nd half we were so flat, my ratings.

Lloris - Had nothing to do, kicking is in question: 6/10

Naughton - Had an excellent game as usual when called upon, was solid defensively and offered good attacking options. No Walker but uses the ball better, and positionally astute: 7/10

Dawson - Did ok. Usual long ball to Adey, some good last ditch tackles and headers, Gets opened up when looking to press higher: 6/10

Verts - Probably the most luckiest player I've seen, gets so many last ditch tackles right, easy game for him: 7/10

Fryers - Poor game, needs to adjust to life in the PL, some if the timings of his runs were Ill judged, some good deliveries: 5/10

Lennon - Did a lot of defensive work today, mopping up and helping out, not enough going forward. But he was solid without being a danger: 6/10

Paulinho - *sigh, he just offers nothing of note. Very lazy on and off the ball, and clumsy, plays at Brazil pace, not effective enough for me despite his goals this season: 5/10

Dembele - Much like Pauly was neat and tidy, never really looked dangerous. But kept the ball well at times: 6/10

Townsend - Good first half, tended to tire and look lazy in the second. Good to see him on the natural left wing, linked uncomfortably with Fryers: 6/10

Ade - Worked hard throughout the game, his effort tends to go unnoticed, great link up player, great assist for Soldado: 7/10 MOTM

Soldado - Plays better in a two strike pairing, still lacks something in his game, just not totally convinced in himself at times. Looked jaded in the 2nd half: 6/10

A better team would have beaten us today, we looked very tired and lacking options in the 2nd half, but scraped a win. Looks like Europa next season also
