Revelations

Much has been said about the form of Vardy this season and the total transformation from last, but for me it's Drinkwater that has really turned the corner.

I thought Vardy was one of the unluckiest players in our squad last season. He showed lots of promise early on, scoring a couple of goals, but how many times did he hit the woodwork or have goals chalked of. His confidence drained, the crowd turned on him and he went into his shell. I could see he was quality though.

Not so with Drinkwater. For most of last season I thought he was a total waste of space. Disinterested at best and totally out of order at Barnsley. I'd have got rid there and then.

Danny Drinkwater, you have proved me wrong. Congratulations, again, on another scintillating performance yesterday. You, my boy, have converted me. Keep this form up in the Prem and those 3 lions might just come knocking.

i'm not going to gloat about Vardy. for DD was signed to play with his partner James and when that did not happen his head dropped now in tandem they can go all the way. a young Scoles as John says

Actually, not only was Drinkwater signed 6 months before Matty James, but he started going downhill last season when he partnered James. He was with King to start off with and they were very good, then King lost form and James got a go, then Drinkwater lost form and King got another go.

This year Drinkwater's been excellent with both of them while King's been a bit unlucky.

I'm not being funny, but if Utd are really looking at DD they are getting desperate!

He's no doubt been excellent for us this season and I agree that he's stepped on and showing what a good player he is. I fully expect him to make the step up to Prem.

However, in the same way I though Cleverley was decent, I was shocked to see Utd put faith in him and am still troubled by the fact he's in the England frame. Steady away he is, world class he most certainly isn't!!

Anyway, enough about England's average talent. I also still have some reservations about DD's attitude and temperament. The fans have clearly put behind them the challenges from last year, I'd like to see DD do the same. It still feels a bit awkward to me and agre that it suggest DD needs some careful management

I guess that's another tick in Pearson's man management skills then wouldn't you agree JG

I do remember when we signed DD and in all fairness JG was the first to laud the signing as a quality one on here. I'm not a fan of his previous Pearson bashing, but he called this one right as Nev did with Vardy

Yes Mersey -his decision to sit in the stand and let the players express themselves without touchline histrionics has greatly assisted Danny............ sorry just could not resist it!

Mersey he came from Man utd youth set up as did James and they have played together since they where 14 Dung do you think its just a coincidence? I was with someone today with Moore knowledge than both of us about the set up at City and he also thinks Kings had his day. a make weight in a deal for a player at Ipswich we are after for the premiership.

Is that code for saying you were with Liam Moore? If so, good on you.

I'm not surprised at all that DD and James play well together having known each other for so long. However, they do have to get on (and they seem to complement each other personality-wise) and they have to be good players individually, which they clearly are. I was just saying it hasn't always worked for us and it's to their credit that they've made it work this season. I was also taking the opportunity to remind you that we've played excellent and winning football with DD and King as a partnership, seeing that you've given up on the latter.

Also Nev, if we are after the player I think you mean, he'll have to play a lot better than he looked against us recently, and besides this is currently Jeff Schlupp's chance to show that we already have that position covered...

"not even I was that far seeing"

Lol, nice to see JG has a sense irony and humour taking the pi$$ out of himself.

Dung
Schlupp for me and Youngy and a few on the moan in should be a winger or if we play three at the back. I don't think Schlupp is the answer to that position short term and certainly not in our first season in the premiership. The player in question would be.
